Editor's Note:
The Hekou Port on China-Vietnam border saw the first group of cross-border workers and vendors on early Sunday morning to resume their businesses or trade in the border city of Hekou in Southwest China's Yunnan Province, as China reopened its borders on Sunday, the first day when the country downgraded its COVID-19 management from Class A to Class B.  The Chinese customs officers prepared gifts to the first batch of arrivals from Vietnam to welcome them while residents hailed the reopening along the street. The Hekou Port is the largest port in the Yunnan section of the China-Vietnam border. The average number of inbound and outbound passengers reached 124,000 visits per day before the epidemic. The first batch of merchants from Vietnam said they are full of expectations and hope.
