China's short track speed skaters compete at the national champions race at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing. Newly naturalized skater Liu Shaoang made headlines on April 2, 2023 by winning the 1,000 meters while his brother Liu Shaolin set a new national record with 1:22.490.
