The National Museum of China and the Uffizi Galleries of Italy jointly launched an exhibition on self-portrait masterpieces from the Uffizi Galleries collections on April 26, 2023. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 am on April 27 to September 10 at the National Museum of China. 50 pieces spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary times were selected from the Uffizi Galleries’ collections for the exhibition. The paintings include self-portraits by Raphael, Titian, Rubens, Rembrandt, Ingres, Morandi, Chagall, Yayoi Kusama and Cai Guo-Qiang. Through the 50 self-portraits, the exhibition will present to the Chinese audience the glory of numerous prominent works in art history. Launched in the 1660s, the Uffizi Galleries’ master self-portraits mark one of the museum's core collections, with works from the 16th to the 21st centuries on display in the exhibition.
