Railways, airlines busy as May Day holidays travel rush approaches

A large number of passengers flocked into Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai railway station on April 27 as May Day holidays travel rush approaches. Between April 29 and May 3, the total number of inbound and outbound passenger visits at Shanghai Pudong International Airport is expected to reach 217,000, up about 26 percent from the previous month while those at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is expected to reach 33,000, a 28 percent increase from the previous month.
