The 28th Lotus Festival of the Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park opens on June 29 and will last until August 21. Renowned as a royal garden of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Yuanmingyuan, or the Old Summer Palace, is known for its enchanting lotus flowers. More than 200 lotus species are cultivated there, covering over 1,000 acres. During the festival, visitors can also enjoy various lotus-related cultural activities. (Photos: Chen Tao/GT)
