A national square dance competition starts in Beijing on June 29, 2023. Teams from seven different cities perform at the opening ceremony. Beijing hosts the dancing competition annually, attracting tens of thousands of square dance enthusiasts to participate. During the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, 226 amateur performers showcase China's square dance to the world.
