Railway transportation for the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holidays in China commenced on September 27, 2023. In preparation for the surge in holiday travel demand, China's railway system has significantly expanded its capacity, extending the holiday transportation period to 12 days. During this period, it is anticipated that daily passenger seat availability will rise by 18.5 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2019, with the addition of 320 new through train services connecting various railway bureaus.
