Exhibition commemorating Shakespeare kicks off in Shanghai

To commemorate the 460th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth, the exhibition "Transforming Shakespeare into gold" will open to public on Saturday at Shanghai Art Collection Museum. With over 100 exhibits, the exhibition is expected to comprehensively show Shakespeare's life story and literary works, offering visitors an immersive understanding of one of the world's greatest literary men. The largest ever displayed in China, the exhibition will be divided into five major sections, respectively showcasing Shakespeare's extraordinary life, the daily lives of Shakespeare's era, Shakespeare's writings, the playwright's opera masterpieces, and his hometown Stratford.
