Editor's Note:
Visitors from home and abroad gathered at the Memorial Hall of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday, two days ahead of this year’s Chinese New Year, to celebrate the approaching festival. Several of China’s intangible cultural heritage skills including paper cutting, calligraphy and dough figurine were presented at the event, attracting lots of visitors to take a closer look and experience in person. The event was held to enable visitors to know about China’s traditional culture and red (patriotic-themed) culture. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) added "Spring Festival, social practices of the Chinese people in celebration of the traditional New Year" to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2024. The 2025 Chinese New Year falls on January 29. (Photos: Lu Ting/GT)
