On April 4, the Beijing Folklore Museum hosted a series of cultural activities in celebration of the Qingming Festival. Visitors were invited to participate in traditional folk activities such as pitch-pot, shooting willow, leading hooks (a precursor to tug-of-war), painting paper kites, and kneading green dumplings. Historically, the Qingming Festival encompasses two main customs: honoring ancestors through tomb-sweeping and enjoying spring outings.
