The Liulihe relic site, located in Beijing's Fangshan district, has been ranked among China's top 10 archaeological discoveries for 2024. The main remains date back to the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046-771BC) and cover an area of approximately 5.25 square kilometers. Archaeological discoveries have clarified the dual city wall structure and the scale and layout of buildings at the site. It’s currently the earliest confirmed urban site in the Beijing area, providing the earliest physical evidence for over 3,000 years of urban history in Beijing.
