The charity event “Egg Walkathon” took place in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area on Saturday. This year’s theme, “Keep moving forward, find your answer,” inspired nearly 3,700 participants to complete either a 50-kilometer challenge or a new 15-kilometer route within 12 hours, raising funds to support children in need. Chinese Olympic diving champion Wu Minxia also took part as a special guest.

Now in its 15th year, the annual “Egg Walkathon” has attracted nearly 140,000 participants and raised more than 100 million yuan ($13.9 million) to date, according to the organizer, the Shanghai United Foundation. The funds have benefited over 1.54 million underprivileged children and their caregivers. (Photos: Lu Ting/GT)
