Editor's Note:
The 15th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts kicked off at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum on Thursday, as a key event celebrating China’s Cultural and Natural Heritage Day that will fall on June 14 this year. With the theme “Harmony in Diversity,” this year’s exhibition brings together more than 150 distinguished participants from over 30 countries, including China, Japan, the US, the UK, and Italy, comprising artists, masters of arts and crafts, and national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors. The exhibition is set to run until July 15.
Having been held for fifteen consecutive editions, the exhibition has attracted over 1,800 artists from more than 70 countries to date. The event is cited as a model case for China’s implementation of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, according to the organizers. (Photos: Lu Ting/GT)
