Editor's Note:
On July 27, 2025, marking the first anniversary of the Beijing Central Axis' inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, a celebratory event was held at the square in front of the Bell and Drum Towers in Beijing. During the event, two World Cultural Heritage monuments for the Beijing Central Axis were unveiled simultaneously, one at Beijing Central Axis' northernmost point, the Bell and Drum Towers, the other at its southernmost part, Yongding Gate. Next, World Heritage signs will be installed at all 15 components of the Beijing Central Axis, further strengthening its comprehensive and systematic protection. Photos: Li Hao/GT
