Editor's Note:
Exhibition “Picasso Through the Eyes of Paul Smith” will kick off at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in Shanghai on December 22. The exhibition, presenting 80 authentic museum pieces spanning Pablo Picasso’s entire career, will become “the most complete and comprehensive survey of Picasso’s art ever staged in China,” according to MAP, which is set to be the first station of the exhibition’s upcoming global tour. Picasso (1881–1973), one of the defining figures of 20th-century cultural thought and visual revolution, is widely acknowledged as a founder of modern art, a pioneer of Cubism and a central presence within Surrealist currents.
