Editor's Note:
On December 22, the renovated Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Jingling tomb opens to the public. Built in 1435, Jingling is the joint burial site of Emperor Xuanzong Zhu Zhanji, and his Empress Sun. As one of the 13 tombs in the Changping District belonging to the Ming Dynasty emperors, Jingling is located at the southern foot of eastern peak of Tianshou Mountain, Beijing. Covering an area of approximately 25,000 square meters, the tomb complex retains a relatively intact layout. It is expected that by 2030, the exhibition scope of the UNESCO World Heritage site will extend to all its main tombs. (Photos: Li Hao/GT)
