The Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Shanghai, the birthplace of the CPC, celebrated the Lantern Festival with local citizens on Tuesday. Festivities included a Peking Opera performance, intangible cultural heritage experiences and handicraft activities. The memorial also held a lantern riddle event, one of the most iconic activities of the Lantern Festival, which creatively integrated the Party's history into the riddles.
The Lantern Festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals, marking the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Tuesday marked this year's Lantern Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar. (Photos: Lu Ting/GT)
