May 12 marks China’s 18th National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day. The launch ceremony for the 2026 National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day event (Beijing sub-venue), along with a science popularization exhibition and demonstration, was held in Beijing. A total of 220 pieces (sets) of rescue equipment were showcased during the event. Integrating science demonstrations, interactive experiences, equipment displays, and rescue drills, the event created an engaging public science fair on disaster prevention and reduction that combined educational value, entertainment, and public participation, attracting large numbers of visitors.
