On July 27, 2026, the Beijing Central Axis marked the second anniversary of its successful inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Breaking its usual Monday closure, the Palace Museum opened to the public for free, and large numbers of residents and visitors booked in advance to visit. The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum also offered free admission at the same time, allowing visitors to closely admire the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient architectural treasures.
