Editor's Note:
Recently, Beijing has issued consecutive high-temperature warnings, with the maximum temperature climbing above 38 C as a sustained heat wave sweeps across the city. In response to the scorching weather, residents and visitors in Beijing have been taking various measures to cool down, such as using sun protection and playing in the water. To cope with the heat, Beijing’s parks have introduced cooling measures for the public. In the Temple of Heaven Park, temporary sunshade tents have been set up to provide visitors with a cool place to rest and escape the scorching sun. The Beijing Zoo has also introduced cooling measures for the animals, including spraying water and adding flowing-water pools so the animals can comfortably get through the summer heat.
