Editor's Note:
The Inner Mongolia National Liberation Memorial Hall was officially completed and opened in August 2007, during the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The hall covers a site area of 30,000 square meters, with a building area of 24,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 3,500 square meters. Since its opening, it has received 7 million visitors. The Inner Mongolia National Liberation Memorial Hall is currently the only commemorative venue in China that fully reflects and reproduces the historical process of Inner Mongolia's national liberation and regional ethnic autonomy under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The site of the inaugural meeting of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Government was first built in 1935. On May 1, 1947, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Government was proclaimed here, which is why it is also known as the " May Day Conference Site." It is an important historical witness to the great practice of the regional ethnic autonomy movement in Inner Mongolia under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and also an important base for showcasing red culture and carrying forward the red spirit.
