Editor's Note:
Located in Mandalt Town of Sonid Left Banner in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Suni alpaca base is the largest alpaca breeding base in China, covering an area of 4,200 mu (280 hectares), of which 3,750 mu (250 hectares) is grassland. In 2013, 78 high-quality alpacas were introduced from Australia. After more than 10 years of breeding, the alpacas have fully adapted to the climate of the Sonid grassland. The base currently houses 1,500 alpacas, with a total output value of more than 5 million yuan ($745,527). Photos: Chen Tao/GT
