On October 3, in the second round of the 2026 China Open, Zheng Qinwen faced Russian player Anna Kalinskaya. The match went to a third set, and with Zheng leading 3-0, Kalinskaya felt unwell and withdrew. Zheng Qinwen has now advanced to the round of 32 in the China Open women's singles for the third consecutive year.
