China’s first infantry squad of UN peacekeepers comprised entirely of women arrived in Juba, capital of South Sudan on April 8. The 13 women, who serve in the Jinan Military Area Command, were among 130 Chinese peacekeepers dispatched to South Sudan on April 7. They will join the 570 Chinese already in the area in carrying out UN peacekeeping missions.
