A courier in Wuhan, Hubei Province buried a small package outside a home after repeatedly failing to catch the recipient in order to save himself another trip.

The courier surnamed Yang explained he decided to bury the parcel in a nearby flowerbed after missing university student Guo Wenyu a total six times, the Chongqing Morning Post reported July 17.

Yang said he buried the package after explaining his plan to Guo, and even returned an hour later when it started raining to cover the spot with plastic.

Guo said she had no problem finding the package, a necklace she had bought online, and explained she was never home during delivery hours due to her busy internship schedule.

She later expressed her appreciation for Yang's dedication on her Weibo account.

"I also felt sorry for myself for digging in the dark night," wrote Guo.

Though the package was successfully delivered, Yang said he would not bury packages in the future because he was constantly afraid someone would take it.
