A recent video showing a panda at a zoo in Thailand with rotten teeth went viral recently, sparking Chinese Net users to accuse the zoo of negligence.

The Chinese government loaned the now 12-year-old panda, Lin Hui, to the Chiang Mai Zoo back in 2003.

The video post accused the zoo of feeding the panda poor quality bamboo, which has contributed to its rotting chompers, Thai media reported on Tuesday.

The zoo feeds the panda on thin budget of about 1,200 yuan ($195) a month, said domestic media outlet singsianyerpao.com.

The story has already attracted widespread concern among locals and panda fans in China, with many zoo visitors posting pictures of Lin Hui on social media.

According to the zoo on Sunday, Lin Hui has suffered from dental issues for 10 years and her decay was found to be genetic.

The zoo emphasized they have provided the panda with good care, read the post.

Many Net users responded by imploring Chinese forestry officials and other animal protection authorities to look into the case or seek to bring the panda back to China.
