The China New Art Exhibition was held at the Saatchi Gallery in London from 6-8 November.

The exhibition marked the first time that solo exhibitions by Chinese artists have been exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery since the prestigious contemporary gallery's  opening in 1985. A part of the 2015 China-UK Cultural Exchange, the exhibition was organized by the Zhejiang Tianrenheyi Art Center.

Highlights of the exhibition include three solo outings by three veteran Chinese artists - Shen Qibin, Jin Feng and Guan Ce.

Shen's exhibition, Backyard, is described by the artist as his attempt to depict ancient Chinese scholars attitude towards life through painting.

The Door, part of Jin's Tribute to Macartney series, makes use of old doors from demolished buildings to form a historical narrative that, according to the artist, seeks to examine China's tradition of opening and shutting itself off from the world.

Guan's The Tao of Birds reflects the artist's long fascination with reading and meditation while also depicting the difference between traditional culture and contemporary thought.
