An ancient temple in East China's Zhejiang Province is apparently enlightening social media users about modern-day religion after it placed an ad seeking Web editors, Qianjiang Evening News reported.
Built in 326AD, Lingyin Temple, located near Hangzhou's West Lake, is a renowned Buddhist site famous for its picturesque hills, clear springs and ancient trees.
The temple is now looking to better promote that tranquil beauty on the Internet - something that came as a surprise to Chinese social media users.
"It seems like temples nowadays are like businesses. They've got publicity departments and WeChat accounts," wrote one Net user.
"Buddhist temples are ... places of worship for believers. But now it seems everything's changed," wrote syj2003.
The job, announced on the temple's WeChat account, is open to applicants of all genders and religious backgrounds, according to the temple's abbot.
Salary was not indicated in the post.
