Typhoon hits Shanghai during autumn holiday

Local residents expecting to see a full moon during the forthcoming mid-autumn festival will be sorely disappointed, as weather forecasts are predicting the arrival of a typhoon.

The typhoon is expected to land in Fujian and Guangdong provinces that week, bringing heavy clouds and rain up to Shanghai.

Current weather forecasts show that Shanghai will encounter cloudy weather and showers on September 15.

Even though local meteorological departments claim that the typhoon is still far away from Eastern China, they are suggesting that the best day to enjoy a view of the moon from Shanghai this holiday is not on September 15 but on September 17.
