Excavators work on the site of the Shanghai International Gymnastic Center in Changning district on Tuesday. The main part of the building was demolished recently and an upgrade project will be started soon. Established in 1997, the center used to hold many major sports event. Covering an area of about 30,000 square meters, the new version will contain seven floors, with four underground, according to media reports.
