For his third time taking part in the annual Beijing Music Festival (BMF), conductor Paavo Jarvi led Zurich's Tonhalle Orchestra in a rousing classic music concert, Impressions from the Fin de siècle, at the Poly Theatre on Wednesday night.

Jarvi is one of the most sought-after conductors of his generation, and his passion for detail and meticulous approach have given rise to brilliant collaborative relationships that are characterized by boundless energy and youthful vitality.

With famed pianist Khatia Buniatishvili on piano, the orchestra performed Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor from Sergei Rachmaninov and Gustav Mahler's Symphone No.5 in C-sharp minor.
