Undercover police in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province goaded a wanted drug dealer into meeting them under the pretence of settling a simple misunderstanding with a fist fight.

The cops knew the suspect's phone number and called it asking for "Brother Wang" and his location. Wang continually asked who was calling and after a few more requests for the Wang's location the police officer, surnamed Jin, said he had called the wrong number and hung up.

Five undercover police sitting in an office are seen in a video provided by the police listening to Wang and Jin's phone call.

The officers are surprised a few minutes later when Wang calls Jin back again demanding to know who had called him and warning Jin that he would beat him if he ever called his phone again.

The officer plays along and takes up the challenge, saying he'll meet Wang in 20 minutes for a showdown.

The police video shows the officers driving in an unmarked car not quite believing Wang is actually going to take the bait.

At a parking lot of a China Construction Bank, they jump a man waiting by his car, wrestle him to the ground and handcuff him. The suspect was arrested, Sina News reported without mentioning what the man was charged with.

"Not even a fiction writer could make up such a story," a net user commented on Sina Weibo.
