About 400 esport hotels for young people to play e-games together and sleep have swept across China and become a new social hangout.

An esport hotel in Jinan decorated with e-games wallpaper features various guest rooms, including a "brother team" room, "three players to win" room and "five players overnight" room, which are equipped with two to five high-end esports equipment. These include big-screen computers and special gaming headphones, independent bathrooms and bunk beds, the China News Service reported Saturday.

They charge 100 yuan ($15) per person a night, said Zhang Jun, 20, who came from a city 350 kilometers away just to experience the hotel.

"Compared to internet bars, it's more quiet and roomy here. It's so convenient to play e-games and gather together with friends on weekends," said Li Ce, a regular at the hotel.

Zhuang Guodong, a hotel manager, said he and his friend decided to open the hotel as the esports industry is picking up in China.

"During weekends and holidays, the rooms are always fully booked. Even on weekdays, the occupancy rate is more than 70 percent," said Zhuang.
