China's family of centrally administered state-owned enterprises was extended on Thursday as it welcomed the China Anneng Construction Group into its ranks, the country's state-asset watchdog said on Thursday.

China Anneng Construction Group, restructured from a hydraulic and hydropower plant engineering construction arm of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, now officially numbers among the ranks of China's central SOEs, according to a statement posted on the website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council.

Anneng's business scope includes hydropower plant engineering construction, engineering research, surveying, design and services, water treatment and emergency rescue.

Anneng, which took part in the construction of the Three Gorges Dam project, is now listed among other Chinese engineering giants such as China State Construction Engineering Corp and China Communications Construction Corp.

SASAC's list of central SOEs now stands at 97.
