What happens when your son is addicted to a video game that requires him to keep pace with other players, but he also needs to study for the most important exam in his life?

Instead of straight up banning her son from playing online, a mother from Central China's Hubei Province decided to play the game for her boy, relieving him of the stress of maintaining the game's progress and allowing him to focus all his angst into his studies.

The mom's strategy worked wonders. Her son, Wang Xilai, scored impressive 675 on his college entrance exam, Changjiang Daily reported Sunday.

"In order to maintain the standing in the game it asks you to log in and play every day," Wang told the daily. So he asked his mother: "How about you playing the game for me?"

"When she first started, she was such a noob," Wang said jokingly to the paper.

"She seems to like the game more than I do now."
