After well-received performances in Shanghai, world-renowned French musical Notre-Dame de Paris has arrived in Beijing, where it will be held at the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center until September 1.

It has been 17 years since the musical made its China debut at The Great Hall of the People in 2002.

At a media event for the musical, the show's composer Riccardo Cocciante said he has been amazed at the positive reaction and enthusiasm of Chinese audiences toward the musical.

"For last 20 years, I haven't changed even a single note of it. I still do not feel any regret over this creation," he said, calling the more than 50 songs in the musical "miracles."
