Based on real stories, a new Chinese movie featuring China's Armed Police Force has earned more than 7 million yuan ($994,982) at the mainland box office since its premiere on Thursday.

The Warriors of Honor directed by An Zhanjun features three short stories about China's armed policemen as they crack down on drug trafficking, save hostages and patrol along the country's border areas.

The cast and crew traveled from Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the provinces of Qinghai and Shaanxi to East China's Fujian Province and Shanghai to shoot the film.

According to the director, they encountered a series of difficulties including high altitude hypoxia during the five-month shoot.
