Peter Chan's sports film 'Leap' holds premiere in the capital

China's Hong Kong director Peter Chan's latest work Leap, a movie about China's legendary women's volleyball team, held its premiere in Beijing on Sunday. The movie, starring big names such as Gong Li, Huang Bo and Wu Gang, is set to hit cinemas across the country on Friday, thereby going head-to-head with domestic movies Lost in Russia, The Rescue and Detective Chinatown 3

The director said that the movie has a sense of mission as it is about China's rise as a women's volleyball power and a real legendry team.

The cast members recalled that they felt inspired by the spirit of this women's volleyball team that has moved millions and so they had to really do their homework to make the audience feel like they were a real volleyball team.
