A woman in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province, smashed her neighbor's security camera, saying that it created adverse fengshui and brought bad luck to her family, according to Knews on Monday.

She came to the conclusion after seeing two elderly people in her family fall to the ground multiple times since her neighbor had installed a security camera in the public area of the floor that faces the front door of her house.

The neighbor, surnamed He, explained that she put up the camera to prevent theft and for the good of all the neighbors sharing the floor, pointing out that installation had been approved by the residential property management, local police and most of the other residents in the building.

He finally compromised by agreeing to adjust the direction of the camera to face her own front door.

He's decision was seen as a generous gesture by some netizens, who thought the concept of so-called "adverse fengshui" was a superstition, while others felt it was inappropriate to have the security camera facing other people's front doors as it violates their privacy.
