Xuzhou, an east China metropolis of Jiangsu Province, was once known as the "coal city." Following an economic transformation, however, Xuzhou has become a "garden city" with a greener economic base.

Authorities in Tongshan District of Xuzhou have taken steps to optimize the local agricultural sector by combining modern agriculture with urban tourism.

Altogether, the district's 300-plus agritourism parks have received some four million visitors in 2019.
