Envoys visit Beijing site of COVID-19 vaccine firm

A visit to an institute of biological products in Beijing affiliated with the China National Pharmaceutical Group was arranged for foreign envoys, deepening their understanding of the safety, effectiveness and accessibility of China's coronavirus vaccines, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on Monday.

The ministry's Protocol Department organized the visit by China-based envoys from many countries on Thursday. The envoys toured sites including monitoring facilities for the production of COVID-19 vaccines and were briefed on the progress of vaccine research, Zhao told a regular media conference. 

The Chinese leadership's remarks that China-developed coronavirus vaccines will become global public goods have reinforced confidence in defeating the pandemic globally, the envoys stated, voicing their willingness to push for collaboration on vaccine research and use for there to be increased unity in global efforts to battle the disease, according to the spokesperson.
