Southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has started COVID-19 emergency vaccination for key population, the authority said on Monday. So far, 10,000 people among the first batch have received the vaccines.

The first batch of vaccination in Guangxi will give priority to key groups, including the inspection and quarantine personnel at the border ports, the public security officers of border defense, medical workers, and groups related to epidemic prevention, thepaper.cn learned from Guangxi Health Commission on Monday.

The regional government has organized the faculty training for COVID-19 vaccination since December 19 at regional, city, and county levels. By December 25, a total of 36,800 people involved in vaccination, medical treatment and management had received the training.

At present, 1,088 vaccination sites in Guangxi that meet the vaccination requirements have been designated by the government to undertake the vaccination of COVID-19 vaccines. Each vaccination site is equipped with an emergency vehicle.

The local government also designated 230 medical institutions of level II and above to be responsible for the medical treatment support.
