The 30,000 sheep donated by Mongolia to support China's fight against COVID-19 have been distributed to Chinese medical workers after completing strict inspection and quarantine procedures.

The sheep Mongolia has donated are being enjoyed by Chinese medical workers, according to data released by Hubei Charity Federation on Monday.

Half of the sheep were distributed to front-line medical workers across designated hospitals involved in the fight against COVID-19 in Hubei Province in addition to families of those who died on duty in the prevention and control of the epidemic. Another half were distributed to medical teams nationwide who support the Hubei effort.

During a visit to China in February, Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga announced to donate 30,000 sheep to China to support the Chinese people's fight against the virus.

On November 20 the mutton, presented as a gift from Mongolia, arrived in Hubei Province and has been since sent to predetermined recipients.
