A woman was impressed by how determined Chinese people are to fight illegal drugs after her father reported her to the police for buying drugs during the Spring Festival.

The story was made public over the weekend after the woman left a review at the Taobao shop where she bought cosmetics. The alleged substance bought online turned out to be finishing powder.

The finishing powder is originally packed in very large containers and some shops sell the powder in small bags at lower prices.

"The powder is of good quality but please, do stick a label on the plastic bag. My father found the powder in my luggage and thought I was using drugs! He insisted on calling the police until I applied that on my face," said a screenshot of the product review which went viral on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo.

The story amused many netizens, who left comments like: "your father must have had a long night struggling between justice and family." One online user shared the experience of being interrogated by her grandmother after she found a package with the name "Black Opium"  in Chinese, which was a perfume.

"Never underestimate how determined Chinese are in fighting drugs," many humorously said under the hashtag that has received over 180 million views as of press time.

Though the story has a happy ending, the danger of drugs is serious and the war against drugs requires the participation of the whole society, many netizens posted, with some recalling the pain and humiliation China experienced since the Opium War.

"We know so well how drugs destroy a country, and we must never forget it," a Weibo user wrote.
