A 14-year-old pig that became famous after surviving the devastating 2008 Sichuan earthquake was recently found to be emaciated and barely mobile, drawing concern from Chinese netizens over its health. However, the pig's breeder said, "It can still eat 10 kilograms of food each day, and is in good condition."

After living off charcoal and rainwater for 36 days while trapped under earthquake debris in Wenchuan, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, the pig became a legend and was nicknamed "Zhu Jianqiang," which means a strong-willed pig.

The pig, who now lives at the Sichuan Museum of Jianchuan, was found to be all skin and bones while lying on the ground and barely moving.

The pig's breeder, surnamed Gong, who has taken care of her for six years, told media that she is not sick, but merely old. "In human terms, she's now 100 years old." Gong explained that the pig can still eat a lot, and the skinny figure is only a result of her age.
