Theater play A Dream Like a Dream will be performed in Wuhan on April 22 to pay homage to all the frontline medical workers in this hero city.

The show is a big production at a hefty eight hours long and engages more than 30 actors on a stage that is three floors high and can be viewed from eight angles. The show also engages different deductive chapters that tell stories in places such as Beijing, Shanghai and Paris.

Famous actors such as Xu Qing, Xiao Zhan and Zhang Liang star in the show.

A Dream Like a Dream is inspired by the play of the same name created by Lai Shengchuan, one of China's most renowned stage directors. The play in Wuhan is the 2013 version helmed by Magnificent Culture's main producer Wang Keran.

Jointly produced by companies such as Magnificent Culture and Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd, the show is being held to commemorate the hero city of Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei Province. It also salutes the medical workers there as well as throughout the country for their dedication to saving people's lives during the pandemic.

Wuhan will be the first stop for the show, which it will then tour to other cities such as Qingdao in East China's Shandong Province, Changsha in Central China's Hunan Province and Xiamen in East China's Fujian Province, before finally returning to Beijing in late December.
