A poetry recital gala took place in Beijing on Monday in order to mark the upcoming World Book Day, which falls on Friday. The gala hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Beijing Performance & Arts Group hosted a number of A-list stars in China to recite poems accompanied by acting out scenes and stories on stage. 

Covering four sections, the gala connected different poems in a natural narrative way to provide a complete picture of how Chinese people work together to develop their homeland. 

On Friday, the poetry recital will be broadcast to the world through various streaming platforms.
