The latest work from the National Ballet of China (NBC), Inspiration and Glory, debuted at the Beijing Tianqiao Theater on Sunday night.

The week-long show pays tribute to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

According to Feng Ying, the troupe's director, the show combines the art forms of ballet and orchestral music to express the core spirits of the Chinese people.

Inspired by traditional Chinese myths such as "The Goddess Mending the Sky" and "Old man Yugong Removes the Mountain," the four-movement ballet aims to represent the achievements that China has made under the leadership of the CPC over the past century in an artistic way, Feng explained.
