A man in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, who won a lottery worth of 6,000 yuan ($930) was shocked when the prize money was taken away by someone else via a photo of the lottery ticket which was posted by him on social media. The topic triggered a heated discussion among Chinese netizens on Thursday, with many doubting the logic of the whole story.

On Sunday, the man was so excited to win a lottery prize that he bragged about it and posted the ticket photo on his WeChat moments. When he found out that the prize money was already taken by someone else, he immediately reported to the police. He later made an angry post saying "you will pay a prize if you don't turn yourself in."

As of press time, the topic has got over 250 million reads on Weibo. One netizen claimed that the sports lottery administrative center of Wenzhou should be responsible for the issue. Some blamed the man for being careless by posting key information of the lottery ticket to social media.

When questioned by the media about the process of taking the lottery winnings, a staff member from the sports lottery center just replied that the issue was under investigation.
