Six stray horses were found roaming around in downtown of North China's Tianjin Municipality on Sunday night, causing traffic jam at crossroads.

According to videos filmed by witnesses and posted by Toutiao News, the horses, including five ponies, were walking between slowly moving cars and running on an open road at around 8:00 pm.

The animals did not attack people when some passers-by came near them.

"It was really surprising to see horses on the street. I thought they were in an acting scene of some movie," said one witness.

Local traffic police rushed to the scene after receiving a report, and found the horses herd at an intersection.

They were later guided by the police back to their stable near Qinjian Bridge in North China's Hebei Province, neighboring Tianjin.

It is still unknown how the horses ran out and entered the city.
